What if you could improve your health and create sustainable habits to help the environment?
We are two friends living in different regions of the country looking to start a journey of nutrient dense foods using locally sustainable organic products. We are determined to waste less, buy more seasonally local food products, consume only nutrient rich and healthful foods, and bring others in our regions on the journey with us. Here’s the idea:
- Buying grass fed/pasture raised, hormone and antibiotic-free meat products
- Buying from local farmers using sustainable agricultural practices
- Refusing to purchase processed food products – including condiments!
- Pushing the boundaries of political correctness of “healthy eating”
- Revisiting the past practices of traditional cooking
- Being transparent with our health issues by discussing pitfalls as well as progress!
- Learning from mistakes and teaching ways to help others start the real food trend
Why are we doing this? Because we have realized that the politically correct health practices that we have been following for years have not brought us good health. In fact, many products sold to us as healthy (ie: SOY, pasteurized milk, vegetable oils, etc.) are actually harming us and have brought sickness and disease to either one of us or our family members.
Have you ever wondered why you keep doing what the “experts” say is correct nutrition, yet you are still sick? Or have you wondered why people all around us seem to becoming sicker and more pharmaceutical dependent to fix what ails them? This was not the case 50 years ago. As we became busier as an industrialized nation we’ve sought shortcuts to nutrition. These shortcuts denatured our food and have made it void of the vitamins and minerals our bodies need. We often seek supplements and vitamins to make up the difference. These supplements are themselves denatured and cannot replace the vitamin and minerals lacking in our bodies for true health.
Big Pharma and Big Agribusiness are all too happy to make products to “fix us”. They have big pockets to advertise and lobby our government officials. Often these large corporate farms and pharmaceutical companies are even subsidized by our tax dollars. They profit from our poor health! If you do not believe this then we have a few documentaries that we would like to recommend for you to watch (Start with Food, Inc). We also have several websites for you to browse so you can start to see for yourself how we have been deceived (Weston A. Price).
What our ancestors did for nutrition, health, and survival was not only the way it was intended by our Creator, but it was also better for our environment as intended by our Creator. Our bodies and environment were meant to be nourished and cherished following the laws of nature. We are not exempt from these laws no matter how smart we think we are. We are never going to outsmart the One who made it all to begin with. His laws, his world. So what are we going to do to get back in line with it?
