For those who don’t know, FACTORY FARMS are bad! Often cows, which should be pastured, are confined in stalls and barns and fed anything but a natural cow diet. Chickens are in cages or large buildings with only brief exposure to sunlight and pasture (including some “organic farms”). If a farm is not organic, it will be feeding GMO and pesticide sprayed grains to the animals . . . and so on. For more about this, you should watch the documentaries Food, Inc., Fresh, and more!
Below is a map listing the concentration of factory farms in the Maryland area. Please use this to understand that you MUST know your farmer. Local produce stands and farmers markets are not necessarily safe, unless you know how your farmer produces its food.
