This blog started as a journey of exploration into real food and health for me. And although my journey in learning and trying new things continues in life, sadly I have to step away from the blog for personal reasons. I’ve had a few opportunities come up for me in my local area that will require more of my attention. And although I have enjoyed getting to know all of you from all over the world, my true passion is to teach my local community more about the power of real foods and how to source it or make it for themselves.
I plan to pop in on Facebook and will still connect with people over Twitter and Pinterest. I am always available for questions and will try to answer comments on the blog as quickly as is possible. But the time involved in keeping up with growing the blog, making new posts and recipes and creating Freaky Fridays has come to an end for me (Jen).
Leslie will continue to post from time to time. This is just a good-bye post from me. I wish you all good health! And feel free to drop me a line if you want to chat. I can still be contacted by email here: Jen at Real Food Freaks.com

You will be genuinely missed! May God bless you in your new endeavors.
Thanks Susan. I am looking forward to what the future holds. I will miss the interaction here though.
Very missed! Praying you enjoy your new adventure!!
Thanks Renee! I need those prayers.
Oh Jen, I am sure this was not a easy decision for you. I, too, will miss seeing you here, but I hope we’ll be able to keep in touch by email. I believe I owe you one as I write this; will try to catch up very soon. I will look forward to continuing to enjoy the blog through Leslie’s posts.
Jana, Honestly it was easier than I thought it was to come to this decision when I evaluated why I started the blog in the first place, which was to reach my local community. Somehow in all that we got kind of national/international.
I will still be around adding my two cents on FB and elsewhere. And of course you can email me anytime. I’d love to stay in touch . . . we have A LOT in common.
I wish you the best in your new endeavors– you are a teacher at heart and it sounds like you’re on the right path! I hope it brings you happiness!
By the way, I also hope you turn up on Chopped someday because you made me a fan of that show!!! Most of all, I learned from you to be brave about cooking new things and I usually hear your words in my mind when I’m shopping for food. I think you’ve made a huge difference in the world through your time blogging and I wish you the best always! xo Beth
Bethany, I have so enjoyed our friendship and I hope we can continue our email chats. Someday soon we should meet up for lunch or something since we are not that far away from each other. I have a cousin that lives in the Reading area and I was wanting to see her soon. Maybe I can catch up with you when I go out there to see her.
A million thank yous for helping us with the logo and look. I still plan to return the favor when you get your homeopathy practice up and running. We will definitely promote you here!
Aww, thanks!!! YES– please do come visit me!!! I have good news too– Family Cow is delivering at a drop point right down the street from me, so I can get a bunch of things from them now (they had stopped delivering milk to our area a couple months ago). Just email me and I’ll send you my address.
Jen, thanks for all you’ve done. Good luck in your new endeavor. Thanks for introducing me to Pinterest.
Stanley, I have enjoyed your posts and I will certainly keep up with your blog. So glad you are enjoying Pinterest!
I hope you reach your goals and enjoy the new leg of your journey.
Thanks Carol!
We will all miss you, Jen! But it sounds like you have a wonderful opportunity to follow your passion. Best wishes and thank you for all your time and posts at Real Food Freaks!
Lauren, Thanks so much. I will still be keeping up with your awesome posts and recipes. I promise!
Be well, and may you succeed!
Thanks Soli! Best of luck in your blog as well. I will be following . . . .:)
I will miss your posts. They have always been among my favorites, but I know very well the time it takes to publish a blog. I wish you great success in your community work!
Carolyn, I am so interested in hearing about your progress in your nutrition classes. I will be following along. I also was so thankful for the help showing me where to eat when we were in the Houston area last fall! Being a real food freak makes me super paranoid about leaving my natural food habitat to another for any length of time, but you had great suggestions.
Wow, I’m genuinely upset to hear this this morning. So sorry to hear you won’t be around as much! Jen, you’ve been so generous with your time and expertise, not only here on RFF, but with your thoughtful comments on other blogs all over the web (you pop up everywhere!). Best to you!
Angie, Thanks for your kind words. But wow I didn’t realize I was everywhere . . . I hope I wasn’t annoying.
I still plan on giving my two cents or asking questions here and there as I am still learning and trying to figure out this health and sustainability thing. And I certainly will be keeping up with your adventures. I love your posts. They ALWAYS entertain me.
A word to all of you who have commented . . . my heart is so full! Thanks for the kind words. You all have been a part of making this experience so rich. I will miss you and the interaction greatly! If you aren’t already my friend on FB, friend me.
I usually just put food/health/sustainability stuff up there, but I will keep you posted on my happenings from time to time. https://www.facebook.com/JenTheRealFoodFreak
I’ll miss seeing you on here, Jen! Best of luck with your local endeavors!
Best of luck to you! Will miss seeing your posts!
