Why the added ish? Because while I don’t speak Japanese, I’m pretty sure that teriyaki means “sugar & soy concoction that makes food delicious”. And you won’t find much (if any) soy around here. We pretty much avoid it like the plague. Also, not a whole lotta sugar goin’ on here either…
I don’t always have access to coconut aminos, so I do use organic wheat free tamari on occassion (like when I make jerky). I’m okay with this… it’s certified non-GMO, fermented, and gluten free (regular non-organic soy sauce is totally GMO and contains 40-50% wheat… no thanks).
Beef jerky is a great portable protein and is very healthy if you make it yourself. Most (or ALL, in my case) of what is available in grocery stores is chemically laden, GMO laced, CAFO meat. Ummmmmm… super ick. Lucky for you, making it yourself is easy! It also tastes way better.
If you’re new to making jerky, check out this tutorial. Otherwise, here’s what I came up with for a teriyaki (ish) flavor.

Can’t wait to try this recipe. It looks great for people on paleo or primal diets. Caught you on Fat tuesdays post. I haven’t tried the cocnut aminos yet but know a lot of people recommend them.
I’m not seeing the recipe here…is it gone? Thank you!
How annoying! We had a recipe “plug in” that stole some of our recipes. I will work on re-creating this one… sorry!
Thank you! I have my beef all sliced up and waiting, lol.
