Although eggs and bacon are my favorite breakfast, on occasion I pull out the steel cut oats. (usually because I am out of eggs). Since there are just two of us, I always have leftovers. And often those leftovers just sit in the refrigerator if I have already made a trip to the farm for my eggs.
So I decided to make a variation of granola. I have frozen cherries left over from last summers annual cherry picking and decided that cherries in February sounded wonderful! Pardon the less than bright red color of the cherries in the pictures. The color tends to fade a bit in the freezer, but the taste remains and that is all that matters, right?
