FEATURED POST
We are going to start posting featured blogs from the previous weeks entries. Last week Penniless Parenting posted this great article about foraging for purslane. Purslane is a “weed” that most of us have growing in our yards. I always wondered what this prolific and beautiful weed was and now I know it is edible and nutritious. Be aware that it looks like another poisonous weed, but the poisonous one is easily identifiable by a milky substance in the stems. I encourage you to read this very informative article. I am really intrigued to look at weeds in a whole new way now!
Are you a FREAK? We are. We are REAL FOOD FREAKS and we are not ashamed! Freaky Friday’s are your day to write a comment or blog about why you are a freak, what you did this week that made someone think you were a freak, or post your FREAKY REAL FOOD RECIPES. If you post a freaky recipe, please make it freaky by it being your OWN recipe. From time to time I will post a good recipe someone else has shared. However, FREAKY FRIDAYS are about what make you UNIQUE! Feel free to take a basic recipe and tweak it. But it has to be YOUR CREATIVE UNIQUE recipe. Got it? Are we clear? You also must post REAL FOOD. If you are not sure if your recipe has fake food ingredients, please do not post. You may want to spend some time reading through our blogs to get a sense for what we believe to be REAL and FAKE.
Here are the rules:
1. Everyone who posts place a link back to this blog.
2. REAL FOOD only! No processed, canned, margarine, hydrogenated vegetable oils, etc.
3. Please help us by a Retweet and Facebook link to this page and any sites you visit! Be sure to comment on others posts as well and let the bloggers know you were there.
4. Please leave a brief comment about your post. If this is your first time commenting on our blog, you will have to wait to be moderated just this one time.
If you don’t have a blog we still want to hear from you! Please leave your tips or recipes in the comments.
Thank you!

Hi! Thanks so much for featuring me! I really appreciate it!
You are very welcome. It was an informative post and you answered a question that had been nagging at me!
Thanks for hosting! I linked to the first post in a series I’m going to be doing about heavy metal toxicity, and what to do about it.
I included a post with a review and giveaway for Keeper of the Home’s e-book, Healthy Homemaking. I have found this book a huge asset, and I think your readers will as well! Thanks again for the link up!
Thanks for hosting, Jen. Today I linked up a recipe for homemade broccoli soup from scratch – no MSG laden cream soup base here! It’s so good on crisp fall days.
Seriously yummy looking! I am going to have to make this now that the weather is turning colder on us — and a tad bit too early if I might add!!!! Thanks for submitting !
